Browsing the Image Gallery
To browse the Image Gallery, firstly select 'Image Gallery' from the main website navigation. You will then be presented with the categories, into which the images have been divided. These categories are Dates, Theme, Street, Building, Waterways and the Docks, Open Spaces and Bridges.
All categories are structured in a similar manner. For example, if you would like to browse the Gallery by date, then simply select 'Date' from the navigation. You will then be presented with the sub-categories, which are available within Date. Selecting the sub-category you are interested in viewing will then take you to a page displaying thumbnails and titles of all of the images, which are available within that particular sub-category.
The default number of images displayed per page is 12. If there are more than 12 images within that particular sub-category, then the images will appear on subsequent pages. These pages can be browsed by selecting the page number from the top right hand side.
Alternatively, you can choose the number of thumbnail images you wish to view per page, using the dropdown 'Display' box at the top left hand side of the page. This can enable more images to be displayed per page and thus reduced the total number of pages.
To view more details of a particular image, simply click on either the thumbnail image or the image title. This will take you to a page where you can view a medium-sized version of the image and read further details relating to that image.
If you wish to view an even larger version of the image, this can be done by selecting 'click here to enlarge image'.
Form this page, you can continue to browse other images within the sub-category by either selecting 'Next image' which takes you to the image detail page of the following image or alternatively, you can select 'Back to gallery' which will return you to the thumbnail listing page.
Alternatively, each image has 'Related Keywords' associated with it. Therefore, if you are viewing an image which has a 'Related Keyword' of 'houses', then clicking on the keyword 'houses' will take you to a page listing image thumbnails which all have the 'Related Keyword' of 'houses'.
